Overview
Old Greenwood is one of two 18-hole courses at Tahoe Mountain Club, and since 2020 the Jack Nicklaus signature design has hosted the PGA Tour’s modified stableford event, the Barracuda Championship. “Excellent golf course located in the Sierra Nevada mountains just outside Truckee, CA. When played course was in good condition - fairways were firm and fast as were the greens albeit the greens were a bit chewed up and pitted from ball marks. Good variety of golf holes moving both left and right and up and down hill following the natural terrain of the surrounding mountains and valley. Mature pine trees lined the fairways adding to the aesthetic value of playing the course and also provided various shot options and challenges off the tee and into the greens. Fairways and greens were protected by well-designed bunkers which were also in excellent condition. Greens were receptive with undulating / contours which required well placed shots to score well."

“Old Greenwood is one of two courses at the Tahoe Mountain Club. It’s a Nicklaus Signature course on an expansive 600 acre piece of property. The Barracuda Championship of the PGA Tour moved here in 2019. The course is challenging yet fun to play and beautiful. The greens are relatively large and have significant undulations. The course can stretch out to 7518 yds, but there are multiple sets of tee boxes for all level of players."

“Very good Nicklaus course through the pines near Lake Tahoe. Lots of variety with mix of flatter tree-lined terrain and more open parts with moderate elevation changes. Terrific collection of challenging par-3s is particularly notable."
