Really unique-looking clubs in this category. The black clubface is cool. The shaft was way lighter than the head, so the weight distribution was weird. Unless your swing is set for this exact weighting, it's tough to figure out. It gave a muffled sound like it was coming fast off the face, but it wasn't.
I had a hard time hitting the center of the face with these, but when I did hit them well, the ball was very springy. The appearance is stealthy, but the lack of forgiveness is a concern.
The black look gives a sense of power. When I set it down, it looks like a low-handicap style head, but it didn't play that way. A rocket in distance. Mis-hits felt like you flushed it and the distance showed that. This club gave me great excitement and turf interaction was tops, too.
All-black heads are cool looking. I think the launch and descension angles were there, so I was able to get pretty good speed on it. It definitely got through the turf well.
The black head is badass. There's a huge hunk of metal on the back, which gives it a firmer, tougher feel.
Turf interaction was incredible. I felt like I had a heightened sense of the clubface through the swing. It gave me a nice piercing trajectory. It's a little longer than a standard iron but not extremely hot.
This is what I would consider my perfect club. It’s a V-12 engine that is easily manageable for anyone. It eases you into what needs to happen. The more you went at it, the more stable it was. If you made a gradual increase in speed, the club would give you the same amount of gradual distance gain.
I really like the all-black finish and shaft. The club was responsive. Mis-hits hung in there and performed well. It didn't feel like it was hard to get the most out of these.
Love the all-black, gunmetal finish—very sexy. It's such a small head. I had a hard time finding a sweet spot but when you get it, it's amazing. Everything else was very harsh on feedback.
The black finish is striking and almost distracting becuase it is so attractive. Sneaky long distance on center hits, but away from the center there was noticeable falloff. Each club gave me a soft landing.
Good solid distance and nice high draws with most shots.
Beautiful finish on this club. Overall, I love the proportions and sizing. Everything about it is ideal and suits my eye. The sound and feel were soft but powerful. The distance carries were above average and the clubs were very difficult to mis-hit.
I'm a big fan of the dark, matte finish. These are so smooth and soft with a muted sound at impact. Tough to miss the sweet spot and easy to launch these high.
I love the black finish, simple and sharp. I only needed to hit a couple balls to get results. It's everything I'm looking for in an iron—a bit longer than my irons without sacrificing consistency.
It had a soft kind of grab-and-release feel, really supported by the sweet spot. It gave me a hushed kind of ripping sound right off the face. A bit more of a compact blade length made me take a second to frame up the ball. I got consistent distance.
I love the all-black appearance. Really, really cool looking. This might sound stupid, but that’s my favorite thing about the club in a good way. It feels really nice. The longer irons are especially easy to get up in the air. Mis-hits were pretty good. Good speed across the face on mis-hits, which is great.
Sexy look but not distracting. It really settles in behind the ball, giving you a confident feel and look. There was a satisfying crack at impact. You get good carry without ballooning.
The sound is a bit higher-pitched than I'd like. When struck well, it's more of a thwap sound. When you swing, it feels like cutting through butter. It's just smooth but there's not much forgiveness on off-center hits. They lost too much distance but did stay straight.
It's a pro look for an amateur club, which is a nice touch. The ball sounds muffled off the face, like a gun with a silencer. The ball comes off sluggish.
I love the look. It exudes a players iron, blade feel. The sound is very muted. It didn't feel like I could really compress the ball. I don't know if that's because the face is firm, or me sucking at golf, but it's one of the two. It was very accurate, but the distance was too inconsistent.
My only concern with the dark-matte clubface is, will it stay that way for long? I actually had a few mis-hits that I didn't expect to go that far, but they did. The only drop in distance was when I hit it off the toe. Still had plenty of distance. Funny thing about it is that the club felt a little bit heavy but it doesn't swing like a heavy club.
If Batman used a club, this would be it. I didn't mis-hit any shots—fades, draws, straight shots, everything was playable. Put this in your bag.
I like the black finish and it frames the ball well with the contrasting color on the groove area. The head is noticeably heavy, which produces a good strike through the ball with a whipping sound from speed and a thwack at impact. I got a piercing flight.
I feel like this requires a little more precision to use, like a players iron. Distance was good, but not great. It's a beautiful club with a great topline. Better players would take a shine to this. On off-center strikes, you'll definitely lose distance and get more sound in the feedback.
Very crispy through contact. A light click at impact belied the extreme energy off the face. Thin topline and thinner sole made it appear a little intimidating, but that first swing gave me confidence. Higher-than-average ball flight means you'll be comfortable holding greens. On the higher end in terms of carry distance.
A true players-distance club. Launched super high, super far and still had workability. Misses were in the right direction. They went a little left but I could hit the high fade, which was exciting for me. A little softer sound and feel and it gives you excellent feedback at impact.
I love the beautiful tiny little black head on it. After the first few shots, it became clear that the sweet spot is the size of Texas. I hit it on the toe three times in a row and it didn't faze the shot at all. The 5-iron is as easy to hit as the rest of the clubs.
Interesting ball flight; it went up and tumbled more for distance with a receptive landing angle. Impact was explosive in the sweet spot but there was a falloff on off-center strikes. Still, it plays bigger than it looks in terms of forgiveness.
I was thrilled by the look of this club. It is compact-and-athletic looking. Looks built for speed. A pistol-shot feel coming off the face with the ball moving out toward its apex. It was rewarding to hit balls with this.
The dark finish on it is an acquired taste. When hitting the ball, it really delivers a nice punch and stays tight to the line of intent. The rollout was significant with plenty of extra distance. There was a proper amount of forgiveness.
I thought these had a nice, high flight and fell softly. Long irons took a while to climb but still landed without much roll. Plenty of distance and forgiving. I felt like the sweet spot was huge.
I was able to move it and got a lot of distance out of it. It sounded good coming off the face.
